Talking Story

Human connections are deeply nurtured in the field of shared story.

- Jean Houston

When I first started playing sports, the thing that got me to fall in love with it were the friendships that I made.

If done right, sports serve as an introduction for people to have a shared experience with others. It opens the door and breaks down walls because you share your personal experiences with others and create lasting friendships. It doesn’t matter if you are young or old, participating in a sport or group activity helps connect you to others.

As an athlete, coach, parent....as a human being, take time to connect with someone face to face. Learn, listen, and share.

My uncle Jim’s favorite saying is “Sit down, let’s talk story.” Go talk story today with a friend, a teammate, a loved one, or someone random that you are standing in line with at the coffee shop!
