Gratitude

Do you know what my favorite part of the game is?

The opportunity to play!

- Mike Singletary

Take a moment out of your day to just appreciate what you are doing.

Oftentimes, we can just get stuck in a self critical cycle of self talk or just take things for granted.

So, take a moment and recognize yourself for what you do well.

As athletes, think about the amount of time you have spent training and in competitions. Now, think about how far you have come and how special your experiences have been.

I have a tennis player who talks about how she loves playing in tennis tournaments. She especially loves Sunday’s (final rounds) because she is edging toward the finals and is grateful that she gets the opportunity to play the sport she loves and that her coaches, friends, and family all help give her the confidence to play at her best.

Be grateful and keep motivating yourself to achieve your personal level of greatness!
